Braden Holtby made Uriah Clarke’s day by signing his Blades jersey and posing for a photo.

Braden Holtby, the best goaltender in the NHL, recently made a stop in the city where he played junior hockey on his climb to the NHL. The Washington Capitals’ netminder and current Vezina Trophy winner took time out of his offseason to connect with kids at the White Buffalo Youth Lodge.

Holtby’s Heroes helps connect inner-city youth with the game of hockey and provides them with the opportunity to attend Saskatoon Blades home games among other things. Holtby said it is his way of giving back to the community of Saskatoon that he loves and also staying connected with the Blades, an organization near and dear to his heart.

He was a big hit with the kids who watched a highlight video of his year, had a question and answer session and then a wicked game of floor hockey. The day ended with autographs for everyone and a few selfies.
