This is Parker Lerat’s first time participating in the Saskatchewan Indian Summer Games held in Ochapowace First Nation. He is the pitcher for his softball team playing with Team Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation (TBOFN).

The 10-year-old athlete is enjoying the experience of being active and participating in a fun summer event.

“I like that other people come out, communicate and play as a team,” he says.

He looks up to his uncle Deegan Gamble, who is also a Summer Games athlete playing in the same sport.

“He teaches me how to pitch and everything with the sport.”

Parker hopes to someday become a professional athlete after he completes high school. Besides playing sports, he likes to relax and watch television at home.

Parker currently lives in Regina and is in Grade 6.
