The File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council and the All Nations Healing Hospital welcomed federal Minister of Health Jane Philpott for a tour of the hospital, a leading example of a First Nation owned and operated health facility that has gained recognition as one of the best in the country. 

"We are proud of this hospital and very pleased to be able to share with Minister Philpott our experiences and our successes in providing quality health services in a First Nation culturally appropriate setting, for not only First Nations people, but also the entire community," said File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council Vice Chairperson Elaine Chicoose. 

Minister Philpott also toured another successful Saskatchewan First Nation health facility on her trip, the Standing Buffalo First Nation Lakeview Lodge, a personal care home. 

“The health and wellness of Indigenous People is a top priority for our government. I am thankful for this opportunity to visit these facilities first-hand, and encouraged by their success under the direction of the First Nations communities they serve,” said the Honourable Jane Philpott, Minister of Health.

The All Nations Healing Hospital includes 13 acute care beds; one palliative care bed; a large outpatient and diagnostic area; support services; and the White Raven Healing Centre, which provides mental health services and a spiritual cultural program, and FHQTC Health Services, responsible for providing community health services to the member nations of FHQTC.
