Several in-person events are planned around the province to mark National Indigenous People’s Day from grand openings to cultural events.

In Regina some of the events include:

Directions from Regina go north on Highway 6 for 25 kms,

Turn east on grid road at Piapot highway sign 12 kms

Turn left at intersection towards valley for 5 kms

Turn left at the T approx and go 3.5 km

Watch for markers on the road.

Casinos Regina

There will be an Indigenous Arts & Craft Fair, complimentary bullet soup and bannock as well as a variety of Indigenous performances all taking place in the Show Lounge.

Up to 28 vendors will be given the opportunity to sell their products to casino guests during the Indigenous Arts & Craft Fair which will go from 12-6 pm. Products will range from First Nations beadwork, artwork, clothing, footwear, jewelry, accessories, home décor, etc.

Casino Regina will be showcasing a variety of Indigenous dance performances and activities, including an Indigenous Traditional Games Interactive Session featuring Dustin Brass. 

There will also be complementary Traditional Bullet Soup and bannock being offered to guests at 1 pm & 4 pm. *While supplies last.

Saskatchewan Science Centre throughout the day:

DREAM CATCHER MAKING

While learning to make a dreamcatcher, hear different traditional stories about dream catchers, the stages of sleep and the science behind dreams and nightmares, as well as the benefits of sleep and factors that influence sleep patterns, such as exercise, tiredness, and caffeine.

CRAFT A LACROSSE STICK

Gather outside on the grass and learn about the history of lacrosse and how to craft a lacrosse stick out of household materials. After making your lacrosse stick, learn some maneuvers and test out your creation!

CRACKING THE CODE!

Learn how to translate your name into binary code and bead a keychain using basic or traditional loom beading techniques. Traditional beadwork is also encouraged. Supplies included.
