Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) and the SIGA Long Runners Fitness Group announced today an $18,000 donation to support CHEP Good Food Inc. The funds were raised through SIGA’s Good Food Run held on June 10, 2018.
“SIGA is committed to sharing success in the communities where we live, work and play,” says Lillian Denton, SIGA’s Director of Community Investments. “This year’s Good Food Run was a tremendous success, drawing in more than 425 participants, allowing us to more than triple the amount of last year’s donation.
SIGA’s Good Food Run, presented by the SIGA Long Runners, is a charity fun run in support of CHEP Good Food Inc. Participants choose from a 1, 5, or 10 km race and all receive medals, snacks and refreshments. This year, SIGA and CHEP held a competition for elementary students in the community to design the participant medal. The winning medal design was chosen based on how well it represented the themes of health, wellness, good food and fun!
“SIGA and our Long Runners Fitness Group have been very excited to bring this event to Saskatoon and are grateful for the many sponsors, volunteers and participants who have helped us make SIGA’s Good Food Run so successful,” says Vern Acoose, SIGA’s Senior VP of IT and Business Development and founder of the Long Runners. “It is such a great opportunity to come together as a community to support a worthy cause and promote health and well-being.”
Last year, SIGA’s Good Food Run drew 200 participants and raised $5,000 for CHEP Good Food Inc. Learn more about SIGA’s community investment program at https://www.siga.sk.ca/community-investment/.
