Response to call for toys overwhelming

CUMFI asked on behalf of their kids, and the community answered with a resounding yes. After a call for toys and games for kids living in CUMFI buildings was put out on the Eagle Feather News web site last Thursday, CUMFI has fielded over 90 calls from folks willing to help out.
People dug in their basements and closets and donated a roomful of board games, sports equipment, puzzles, toys, a couple Nintendos and even a bouncer in an overwhelming show of community support in this trying time.
“CUMFI is so thankful for the response from your Facebook community. You have the power to activate our very helpful community,” said CUMFI President Shirley Isbister. “The calls are still coming in actually. All of the toys were disinfected and are being split into all of the homes.”
Isbister added how amazing the front-line staff have been with all of the challenges, and how they are going over and above the call of duty all the time. “Kelly and Natasia spent the weekend making masks for all the staff. Over 150 of them. We want to thank everyone who donated and are doing this important work in our communities still. Please, everyone take care.”
