RCMP safely locates missing Beardy's & Okemasis men

UPDATE: RCMP has safely located all three men as of the afternoon of January 10, 2015. 

The three individuals were located by local residents of the community who were assisting Rosthern RCMP and the RCMP Search and Rescue team. They were located safe in their vehicle which was stuck in the snow north of Duck Lake. All three individuals were uninjured and were able to stay warm inside their vehicle until they were located. The RCMP would like to thank the hard work of the families and friends of the three missing males which resulted in them being located so quickly.

Rosthern RCMP are looking for three missing elderly males from the Beardy's and Okemasis First Natin.

Last night at approximately 9:45 p.m., the Rosthern RCMP detachment received a call that three elderly males from Beardy's First Nation were missing. The three males were last seen at about 3:30 p.m. in a light brown 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab truck. Surrounding detachments have been notified and Search and Rescue is currently assisting detachment members.

The missing individuals are Raymond Smallchild (68 years), James Yahyahkeekoot (71 years) and Joseph Yahyahkeekoot (72 years).
