  • EFN Staff | March 18, 2014

An autopsy into what people were investigating as a suspicious death of a 21-year-old man at Pelican Narrows has concluded.

RCMP say Kieffer Braeden Linklater died of hypothermia and therefore his death is no longer deemed suspicious.

At approximately 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014, Pelican Narrows RCMP received a report of a missing person 21-year-old male from the community of Pelican Narrows. The 21-year-old male hadn't been seen since March 11, 2014 and was reported missing by a family member.

Shortly after receiving the missing person complaint, Pelican Narrows RCMP members received a complaint of a body located a short distance into the bush just outside Pelican Narrows.  Members attended to the scene and located the body of a deceased male, immediately securing the scene and contacting the Coroner's Office.

Investigation revealed that prior to his death, Linklater had been at a social gathering inside a residence located in the community of Pelican Narrows.
