This is not Trinton Menomin's first time competing in the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) - he's played when the games were held in Milwaukee where his team took third place.

When he received the news that he made it again to play baseball in Regina, not only was he looking forward to a memorable experience but to go to a place he's never been to before.

"I was pretty excited yet I was pretty scared because it was in Canada so I didn't know how it'd turn out. It's my first time in Canada and it's pretty cool."

He gathered with his team members back home and had a couple practices to prepare for NAIG.

He's looking forward to have a fun time at the games besides playing the sport he loves.

"I'm looking forward in meeting new people and participating in my sport and watching other games, too."

He hopes to become a gym teacher and a football or wrestling coach after he completes high school. His message to the youth who want to participate in NAIG is to push yourself for the sport you're good at.

"Just come to the tryouts. It's a lot of fun either way and you meet a lot of people. Just don't quit."
