The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations Chief Bobby Cameron; the President, CEO Don Windels of the Lighthouse Supported Living Inc.; and President Wanda Wilson of the Saskatchewan Indigenous Cultural Centre are entering in an MOU that will see culturally relevant practices and the provision of wild meat for those who access the services of the Lighthouse.

“The FSIN, the SICC and the Lighthouse will work together to develop and utilize culturally appropriate intervention strategies and action plans as a connection to identity and culture through Elders, language and knowledge keepers,” says Chief Bobby Cameron. 

The FSIN and Lighthouse along with SICC will be able to provide access to culturally appropriate teachings, practices and principles through SICC. Through exercising the Treaty Right to hunt the FSIN Executive have provided meat during the winter months to various shelters throughout the Treaty territories and will be doing a meat drop off to those who access the Lighthouse as a resource in the coming winter months. 

“Through partnerships with community centres throughout our Treaty Territories, regional wide partnership endeavors such as this will assist in addressing some of our most vulnerable people’s needs,” says Chief Cameron.
