Missing Persons Week: Drowning Incidents

  • EFN Staff | May 06, 2014

Boating, hunting or other water related activities can lead to a person going missing.

Review of the 119 missing persons reveals that approximately 22 are persons presumed to have drowned, says the Provincial Partnership Committee on Missing Persons.

On average, 20 individuals drown each year in Saskatchewan.

"The sad reality is most of these cases are preventable," says Kent Stewart, the Chief Coroner for Saskatchewan.
