Cause of Deaths of Twin Babies Still Unknown

  • EFN Staff | December 12, 2013

RCMP Major Crimes continue to investigate the deaths of twin seven-month-old boys.

On Monday morning, RCMP were called to a residence on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation because the infants were not breathing.

They were transported to hospital, shortly after which they were pronounced dead.

Following autopsies conducted yesterday in Saskatoon, the cause of death remains unknown.

"The cause of death is pending toxicology, microscopic examination, microbiology cultures, and neuro-pathology examination," says the coroner.

RCMP advise that reporting on the results from such tests could take as long as three months.

RCMP says as with all sudden deaths, investigators are treating these deaths as suspicious until proven otherwise.
