Call for Artists: Monument for Missing & Murdered Aboriginal Women

  • Deadline EXTENDED: February 28, 2015 | January 14, 2015

The deadline has been extended for a monument for missing and murdered Aboriginal women.

The three partners behind the plans are calling for artists to submit requests for qualifications (RFQ).

The Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC), Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) and province of Saskatchewan are commissioning a commemorative art installation and memorial to be located in the new SPS headquarters at 76 25th Street East in Saskatoon. The objective of this public art project is to commemorate and bring awareness to missing and murdered Aboriginal women. Read our previous story about the plans for such a monument.

The commissioners seek RFQs from an artist and/or team to work with the community in the creation and implementation of the project.

The complete document can be found at STC’s website as well as the SPS website. Artists are reminded to check these regularly for updates regarding the RFQ prior to submitting their application.

All inquiries about the project and the call for artists should be sent to Marylou Mintram by email.

The deadline for submissions is now February 28, 2015 3 p.m. CST. The budget is $120,000 all-inclusive.
