The Outlaws of the Métis community of Beauval are becoming a common household name in the Aboriginal and Métis music scene in Saskatchewan. They have stood on many a stage throughout the province for the past six years including their own Métis territory on the 'West Side.'
The vocals and acoustic are handled by Joel Troy Durocher, who is a teacher in Pinehouse. He beams when he talks about his girlfriend and baby of one-years-old. He loves all local entertainers and some past influences are DC Corrigal and Just The Boyz. One of his most memorable gigs were opening for Big Sugar.
Duane Kimbley plays lead guitar along with vocals and the fiddle. He is an auto body technician with a wife and five children. Some of Duanes' influences are also Just The Boyz along with all Saskatchewan musicians, actually much of his family are musicians. One of his most memorable nights was performing at The Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards.
Fred Roy is the bass player and sound tech of The Outlaws. Fred works at CIPI Radio in Beauval and his musical influences are classics such as The Legendary George Jones. Fred has a couple nephews and a son, Fred Corrigal whom are also musicians.
Merv C Morin is not only the drummer but also takes care of the bands arrangements. He is married to Bonnie and they have two girls, Megan and Marsha. Marsha recently appeared at The Voices Of The North showcase 2014. One of Merv's many influences is Don Corrigal who gave him the opportunity to move ahead. Merv is a heavy equipment operator for Cameco.
This year The Outlaws are quite excited about headlining at Back To Batoche Days 2014, along with making a special appearance at their local music festival in Beauval, Saskatchewan. The Outlaws most recent appearance was at The Northern Teacher Education Program (NORTEP) Graduation 2014 at The Mel Heglan Arena on May 3rd in Laronge.
