The man charged with allegedly stealing millions of dollars from the Whitecap Dakota First Nation is facing four more charges.

Hugo Gallegos was originally charged with theft over $5,000 and fraud over $5,000.following RCMP investigating a complaint from Whitecap into missing funds.

Gallegos left the country for his home of El Salvador but later turned himself in.

Now he faces another charge of theft over $5,000, fraud over $5,000, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and laundering the proceeds of crime.

These new charges are related to alleged offences that occurred between January 2009 and July 2013.
